Skin lesion removal for moles, cysts, lipomas and skin tags.
A mole, cyst, lipoma or skin tag can quietly take up more space in your day than you would expect. Some catch on clothing, others sit somewhere visible, and some simply make you more aware of your skin than you want to be. Our Wirral clinic offers careful assessment and, where clinically suitable, private removal of benign skin lesions for adults, performed by a GP with a specialist interest in minor surgery.

For some patients it is a mole on the face that draws attention in every photograph. For others it is a cyst on the scalp that tugs at a hairbrush, a lipoma under a shirt that has slowly grown, or a cluster of skin tags around the neck that catch on a collar. None of these are usually dangerous, but they are hard to forget once you notice them.
Private removal can help when the lesion looks benign and treatment is clinically suitable. We assess the lesion in person before any procedure, and we never remove lesions that need NHS dermatology review.

Most procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic in our purpose-built surgical suite. The method depends on the lesion type, its size, its location, your medical history and the cosmetic result we are aiming for. Where it is clinically appropriate, your consultation and procedure can often happen in the same visit.
Before any procedure, we explain what to expect from scarring, wound care, recurrence risk and follow-up. You leave with clear written aftercare instructions and a phone number you can use if anything is not quite right.
Each lesion type needs a different safety check, removal method and aftercare plan. Explore the service that fits your concern. Every page explains what the lesion is, when removal may be considered, and how the procedure works.
Where clinically suitable, your consultation and procedure can be carried out in the same appointment, subject to assessment. You avoid a second trip, and you leave the clinic with the problem dealt with rather than another date in your diary.
We know it can feel difficult to book a procedure when you are not sure what will happen next.
Your clinician will explain suitability, risks, recovery and aftercare before treatment goes ahead.

Choose a consultation online or speak to the clinic if you are not sure which service fits. Most appointments are available within seven days.

An in-person review with Dr Mugerwa: he will listen to your story, examine the area and walk through what is going on.

An honest recommendation. If treatment is suitable we will explain the options, risks and likely outcomes. If it is not, we will tell you and refer you on.

The procedure itself, followed by tailored aftercare guidance and a clear contact route if anything changes during recovery.
